Climate Shield – West Gold Project

About the Project

West Gold village assets required protection from harsh environmental conditions, along with improved thermal performance and lower energy use.

Bennco Group recommended Climate Shield, a waterborne pure acrylic protectant designed to seal exposed surfaces and extend asset life. The technology protects against water, rust, corrosion, mould and rotting, while supporting repairs and upgrades already completed across the assets.

Climate Shield also delivers strong solar reflectance, ultraviolet resistance and insulation performance, helping reduce roof surface temperatures and internal heat.

Project Milestones & Scope

  • Protected village assets from water, rust, corrosion, mould and rotting.
  • Supported the protection of existing repairs and upgrades.
  • Delivered a low-VOC protective solution.
  • Provided strong dirt pick-up resistance.
  • Achieved an initial Solar Reflectance Index rating of 110.
  • Reduced asset surface temperatures by 40 to 50 per cent.
  • Lowered internal asset temperatures by up to 6°C.
  • Delivered an R6.3 insulation rating.
  • Achieved 84 per cent solar reflectance and 90 per cent emissivity.
  • Provided 97 per cent ultraviolet resistance.
  • Supported long-term asset protection through a 10-year warranty.
  • Helped reduce cooling demand and overall energy use across the village assets.
